CHITWAN, Oct 4: The Chitwan Banana Growers' Association has demanded that the government stop the import of Indian bananas. The association said in a statement that the Nepali farmers are at a loss due to the import of Indian bananas.

ITAHARI, March 24: Interest in banana farming has grown amongst farmers in Sunsari district. Ram Kumar Mehta, a local of Rajdhuni, used to cultivate paddy until six years ago, producing 2,800 kilograms of rice every season. CHITWAN, August 17: Incessant rainfall in the southern part of Nepal has badly affected fish, banana and poultry farming in Chitwan.
