JUMLA, Feb 16: The total area for apple farming in Jumla district is increasing on a yearly basis. Farmers in Jumla are attracted to apple farming as they have been able to generate profit from the venture. Jumla is famous for its organic apples and the demand for the product is increasing in the domestic market.

JUMLA, Dec 30: Ram Singh Rawal of Sija village in Jumla sold seven tons of apples in Kathmandu this season. He went door to door asking people to buy apples for Rs 50 per kg. While the Kathmandu locals were more than happy to get the organic fruit for so little price (far less than the market price of apple in the capital), Rawal was amazed that his products were extremely liked by the people.

DARCHULA, June 14: Narendra Singh Karki Apple farming of Jeet Singh Bohora, a local of Byas rural municipality-1, Chhangaru, Gaga, turned to be a business loss for not finding a market.

JUMLA, March 16: The “Ek Ghar, Ek Syau Bagaicha” (One House, One Apple Garden) campaign that began in Jumla with an aim of making farmers self-sustained through apple farming has proved to be beneficial for the farmers.
