"Of about 200 industries at Pathlaiya-Birgunj Industrial corridor, about 2 dozen industries are located at Simara village development committee alone," says one of the members of the organization, Gunakar Wagle, adding, "We have requested these industries to minimize the industrial pollution. Among them some have shown positive response to our request. Some of them have also started using biogas specific technique to fuel their production process."
The members of the organization emphasizes that their love toward nature is not only limited to Simara.
"We started this movement in Simara but we now aim not to stay limited to this area alone. We´ll try to take our movement to other regions as well and work to reduce the pollution until the environment becomes clean again. Living under the same sky, it is necessary for us to work together to make our environment better," says chairman of Global Warming Neutralization, Ghimire.
This group of youths, who have sent the well wishes for the success of Copenhagen conference, are concerned that the developed nations failed to sign the agreement to stop the carbon emission.
Seeing the youths´ enthusiasm and concern for the degrading environment, educated people and local society have been supporting their cause. Kumar Pyakurel, teacher at Simara Public says, "The society is very keen on supporting this movement. Even though this step in response to degrading environment is small, it´s turning out to be very effective."
