Youth arrested for murdering octogenarian grandma

JHAPA, May 31: Ranjeet Limbu, who had been absconding after allegedly murdering his grandma, was arrested from Ilam district on Sunday.

Limbu, 23, of Mechinagar Municipality-10, Jhapa, was arrested from his hideout in Ilam, said Arjun Timsina, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Area Police Office, Kakadbhitta. Limbu has been charged of suffocating his 82-year-old grandma to death on Thursday.


Police also arrested Limbu's wife Laxmi BK, 18, from the same place. It has been reported that Limbu killed his grandma for allegedly not accepting his inter-caste marriage with BK.

Preliminary investigation by police has found that the couple had killed their grandma and made off with her jewelries and Rs 10,000 in cash. RSS
