KATHMANDU, Oct 12: President Xi Jinping of China was offered a guard of honor by a contingent of the Nepal Army at Tribhuvan International Airport.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Xi inspected the guard of honor at the VVIP lounge at TIA. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, cabinet ministers, high-ranking officials, senior bureaucrats and among others were present at the TIA to welcome Xi. Xi arrived in Kathmandu on a two-day state to Nepal at 5 pm on Saturday. President Bidya Bhandari received Xi when he deplaned.

The Chinese president arrived wrapping up his two-day informal talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held in Chennai, the southern city of India.
Bhandari and Xi are inspecting a guard of honor at the TIA shortly. The Chinese high-powered delegation led by Xi will proceed to Hotel Soaltee. Bhandari and Xi are holding bilateral talks at Sheetal Niwas later today. Bhandari is hosting a banquet in honor of Xi and his delegation at Hotel Soaltee today evening. Nepali Congress President Deuba is scheduled to meet Xi briefly ahead of the banquet.
