KATHMANDU, May 20: A woman committed suicide by setting fire to her body in Kathmandu.
According to Kathmandu Police Range, 36-year-old Shanti Shrestha, who came to Chandragiri Municipality-9 in Machhegaun from Ramechhap, committed suicide by setting fire on herself.

According to police, Shrestha had sprinkled petrol on her body and set fire at around 3:30 pm on Friday. After the body caught fire, she came to the street in front of the room.
Shrestha, who was rescued in an unconscious state by locals and police, died at Kirtipur Hospital at 3:20 this morning during treatment, police said.
An investigation is being conducted into the cause of the incident.
