SARLAHI, July 8: A woman in Sarlahi was booked by police on Sunday for her alleged involvement in murdering her husband with a sharp weapon.
Ambar Bahadur Pariyar, 54, of Ishwarpur Municipality-12, Kalinjor, was found dead at his home on Saturday evening. Nagendra Pakhrin, ward chief of Kalinjor, informed Republica that Pariyar had sustained critical injuries on his head and back. Police have arrested Sonamaya Nepali, 57, the wife of the deceased suspecting her involvement in the murder.
Though the incident occurred on Saturday evening, police were informed only on Sunday as Kalinjor is a remote area. Ward chief Pakhrin learnt about the incident only after the locals informed him on Sunday morning. According to Area Police Office (APO), Kesharjung, the dead body has been sent to Malangawa-based District Hospital for postmortem.
Police have confiscated an axe from the incident site. Police Inspector Gaurav Mahat says it took them six hours to bring the dead body to the hospital as they had to reach the incident site via river.
It has been learnt that the couple often had disputes as Pariyar was a heavy drinker.
