EPIC Mountain Bike Adventure offers various biking tours in the outskirts of Kathmandu – a combination of exercise and exploration for the weekend. Established in 2006, the mountain bike and apparel store has been involved in promoting cycling trips.[break]
For the weekends, EPIC has a Fun Ride, which is open to all, regardless of their biking skills and levels. The ride starts at 7:30 am from Jhamshikhel, and the destinations differ every week. Of the popular trails for the Fun Ride are Nagarkot, Lakhuri Bhanjyang, Kirtipur, and Budhanilkhanta, said Rupesh Man Shrestha, managing director of EPIC.

But one of the most exotic rides, according to Shrestha, is to Tika Bhairav to the south of Kathmandu. A mix of ups and downhill, the route is a mix of adventure, scenic sights, and an opportunity to know the local cultures along the way. This route is also good for starters, Shrestha added.
To ride along with the EPIC group, you need to have a bike, helmet, and gloves. If you don’t own a bike, you can rent one from EPIC for Rs 600/day.
EPIC also offers a students’ ride on Sundays, and a two-hour morning rides three times a week for those who want to improve their biking skills. It opened a club called Chain Inc. at Bhainsepati on March 20, which will provide bikers with pump tracks and downhill tracks at its facility.
