KATHMANDU, Dec 30: The weather is expected to improve from today.
Rain and snow occurred across the country on Wednesday due to the western low pressure system that entered from western Nepal last Sunday. Meteorologists have estimated that the effects of this system will gradually subside and the sun will shine in the afternoon from today.
Weather to improve from Sunday
The weather will remain partly cloudy in the morning and it might rain at a few places in the country. Light snowfall is occurring at a few places in the high hills and mountains.
In the afternoon, there will be partial to normal cloud cover across the country. Light showers are likely in a small area of the hilly terrain and light to moderate snowfall is possible in some parts of high hilly and mountainous terrain.
Light snowfall is also expected at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous terrain of Province 1, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces at night.
There is a possibility of light rain at one or two places in Gandaki Province and Province 1 on Friday and light snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and mountains of those provinces.
