KATHMANDU, June 6: Weather across the country will be improving from Sunday. The country's weather has remained affected due to the influence of local wind, westerly winds and the formation of a low pressure system in the wake of Cyclone Nisarga originating from the Arabian Sea.
A gradual improvement in weather will be seen from the western part of Nepal. According to meteorologist, Meen Kumar Aryal, though the present state of cloud and weather seems to be the beginning of monsoon, it is all due to the influence of other systems.
Tentatively, monsoon begins in Nepal from June 10. It is estimated that the monsoon will make a week's delay to arrive in Nepal.
Weather expected to improve only after a few days
Presently, there is generally to mostly-cloudy weather across the country and light to moderate rainfall is taking place in some places of Province 1, Gandaki, Sudur Paschim, Karnali and Bagmati provinces. Similarly, rainfall is taking place at one or two places of Province 5 and Province 2.
Tonight, thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds are likely to occur at some places of Province 1 and Bagmati Province and at a few places of Province 2, Gandaki Province, Province 5, Karnali and Sudur Pashchim provinces.
On Sunday, it will be generally cloudy in most parts of the country with the chances of light rainfall in some parts of Province 1, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and one or two places of Sudur Paschim Province and Province 2.
On Monday, it will be generally cloudy in most parts of the country while light rainfall has been predicted at a few places of Province 1, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and one/two places of Karnali, Sudur Pashchim Province and Province 2.
The latest weather updates of the Meteorological Forecasting Division read that the Kathmandu Valley today received 12.8 mm rainfall, Pokhara received 6.4 mm, Dipayal Silagadhi 27.1, Nepalgunj 3.1, Simara 31.9, Jumla 17 and Dhankuta 8.8 mm of rainfall.
