KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Addressing the 12th Annual General Assembly of the Martyrs' Foundation of Nepal at Paris Danda on Thursday, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the party has defeated the counter-revolutionaries and regressive forces who had been trying to reverse the achievements of the people's war and people's movement for the last one and a half years.

“For the last one and a half years, we have been constantly fighting against the counter-revolutionary and regressive elements which were trying to reverse the achievements of the people's war and the people's movement. However, we have won that battle,” he said, referring to CPN-UML Chairperson KP Oli. “If we were defeated, there would be a danger of reversing the federal democratic republic system, including inclusive and proportional rights.”

Dahal also named the fight against Oli's move another people's war. “Just as the reactionaries in the people's war took the strategy of destroying us, we took the strategy of breaking the siege and resisting. Now, even after 15 years of the peace process, there is still the same fight,” he said. “They have adopted a strategy of annihilating our political agenda and leadership. We again took to the streets to break the siege and resist and agitated with the support of thousands of people. We have won.”
