PARBAT, Nov 6: Cow farming is working wonders for a local representative here.
Subash Chandra Paudel, chairperson to Ward no 7 of the Kushma Municipality, performs his duties at the ward office during office hours and spends rest of time in his cow farm. He has 25 cows and water buffaloes on his farm. His monthly income from the cow farm is around Rs 100,000.
At a time when youths have been traveling abroad to work in foreign land, Paudel has managed to earn good amount of money in his homeland. A true believer of the saying 'time and tide wait for none', he is known for taking rationale decisions in time. Rationale thinking abilities and hard work have driven him toward success even since he entered student politics during his days in Gupteshwar College.

The young leader, who established Swarga Organic and Animal Farm in 2013, prefers to put politics and profession separate. “I am involved in politics is to serve the society, while cow farming is my profession for self-sustenance,” he added.
Paudel has taken 45 ropani of land along Pokhara-Baglung Highway on rent for his farm. He has planted different varieties of grazing grass on the farm premises. His farm currently employs six local youths.
The young farmer has also opened own department store and dairy store, selling 20 to 150 liters of milk every day. He also collects around 300 liters of milk from local farmers. Paudel himself delivers around 450 liters of milk to houses in the town when he his free.
“The milk that we produce serves about 480 costumers. We process the excess milk to produce cottage cheese, ghee and yoghurt,” Paudel added.
