KATHMANDU, Jan 25: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced the preliminary squad for the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) Women's Championship 2024 to be held in Saudi Arabia.
On Wednesday, Rajendra Tamang was appointed as the head coach of the Nepali national team and the preliminary squad was announced.

40 players have been named in the preliminary squad. ANFA has decided to send Nepal as an invited team this time in the competition where the Gulf countries will compete. The tournament will be held in Jeddah from February 19 to 28.
Along with Nepal, host Saudi Arabia, past winners Jordan, Guam, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria will participate in the tournament.
ANFA on Wednesday appointed Kamala Rakhal and Shyam Manandhar as assistant coaches along with Tamang. Bindra Dewan has been appointed as manager and Ujjwal Manandhar as goalkeeper coach.
