KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Voting for the new leadership of Nepali Congress Province 2 is underway.
The voting started at 9:30 AM today. The Election Committee had earlier postponed the voting process on Wednesday evenings as the printing of ballot papers was delayed even as the voting was scheduled on Wednesday.
Voting underway to elect FNJ’s new leadership
According to the NC Election committee, the polling is being held at Gopal Dharmashala in Janakpurdham. After the failed attempt to reach a consensus on the leadership, the two groups formed separate panels and entered the election field.
A total of 174 candidates have filed nominations for 72 posts. Out of them, five members have been elected unopposed and six candidates have withdrawn their candidacies. There are 2,000 voters from 64 provincial constituencies in eight districts of the province.
