Code for Nepal, an organization working in the field of digital literacy, announced the launch of web portal ‘Visit Janakpur’.
According to a press statement released on Wednesday by the organization, the project is taking place in partnership with Province 2 Government and Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, to digitize the information related to the city to attract more tourists, and help local businesses and people in general.

The statement further stated that a group of volunteers will work to develop contents for the website such as digital map, photos, videos and informative pieces about Janakpur. As part of the initiative, the organization also plans to train local business to improve their services.
Quoting Amit Jha, founder and CEO of Internet Market Today, one of the partners for project, stated: “It is a privilege for our entire team to work on a project to promote Janakpur to the global audience.”
