BHARATPUR, March 9: Various speakers said a spate of incident of violence against men has also increased with the prevalence violence against women (VAW). 


It was shared at a district level interaction programme on gender and inclusion organized by District Coordination Committee, Bhaktapur, Women Development Office, Bhaktapur and Nepal Red Cross Society, Bhaktapur on the occasion of 108th International Women's Day. 


At the programme, District Coordination Committee Chief Nawaraj Mainali said that it will take a long time to uproot the men and women divide.

He said violence against women by women and violence against men by women is also becoming a pressing issue of late. 


He stressed the need to end all types of violence. 


Also speaking on the occasion, Chief District Officer Drona Pokharel said that an end to women violence would speed up social development while underlining the need to stop the violence by women. 


Likewise, Metropolitan Police Range Bhaktapur Chief SP Kiran Rana said that the practice of complaint registration should be increased so as to prevent violence against women. 


He also highlighted that the violence against men by women has also increased with the misuse of money sent by men from foreign employment. 


On the occasion, Chief of Women Development Office, Neela Ghimire presented an annual report on violence against women.(RSS)
