KATHMANDU, Jan 12: The Supreme Court on Monday said it is giving its verdict on the murder and fake passport cases involving French-national Charles Sobhraj on Tuesday as scheduled.

"As of now, there is no change in passing the scheduled verdict on Tuesday," said Til Prasad Shrestha, Supreme Court spokesperson.

Arrested in September 2003, Sobhraj is in jail after the Kathmandu District Court convicted him of murdering Laurent Armand Carriere of Canada and Connie Jo Bronizch of the United States in 1975.

The apex court would either reject or uphold the decision of the district court which gave Sobhraj a life sentence in August 2004. Sobhraj has challenged the district court´s verdict in the apex court.
