KATHMANDU, Dec7: Valley Public School registered twin wins in girls' basketball to book semifinal spot in the Sixth Angels' Heart Sports Festival on Tuesday. Valley Public overcame Bhadrakali School 20-15 and host Angels' Heart 25-23 respectively.
Dristi Shrestha scored eight points and Subina Subedi 10 points for the winning team against Bhadrakali and Angels' Heart respectively. Meanwhile, both teams of host made it to the semifinals of junior boys' basketball. Angels' Heart A beat Srijana Gyan Sagar 25-20 riding on 10 points of Sachin Joshi. Similarly, B team overcame Lali Gurans 22-20.

Prateek Chhetri contributed 14 points for the winning team. Basundhara National Academy edged past SEB 28-16 with 14 points coming from Nishan Thapa for the winning team. In the senior boys' basketball, Odyssey saw off Fairlyland 41-30. Rakesh Shrestha netted 20 points for the winning team.
Manaslu, Dhaulagiri triumph
Manaslu and Dhaulagiri registered wins in their respective matches on the opening day of Blind T20 Cricket Tournament 2016 organized to pick players for Blind Cricket World Cup.
In the match played at Pulchowk Engineering College ground on Tuesday, Manaslu registered a 41-run win over Dhauligiri. Put to bat first after losing the toss, Manaslu scored 130 runs for the loss of five wicket. In the run chase, Dhaulagiri managed 89 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Badri Chaulagain of Dhaulagiri who contributed 22 runs was declared the man-of-the-match.
In another match, Dhaulagiri overcame Annapurna by four wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, Annapurna was bowled out for 45 runs in 11.3 over. In reply, Dhaulagiri achieved the target in 9.4 over for the loss of six wickets. The tournament will pick 14 players to play Blind Cricket World Cup to be held in India in January.
