Thirty-five-year-old Narudevi Bista of Ballekana village of Gajari VDC in the district died at Saraswati Medical located at Khopade bazaar of the district.
Locals say Dharmananda Bhatta, who runs the medical store, is neither authorized to conduct abortion, nor has the training.
“The woman died after the medical store tried to conduct unauthorized abortion in exchange of a big sum of money,” said Birendra Aire, a local. Police have arrested Bhatta.
