UML to intensify talks for consensus

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: The CPN-UML has intensified talks with other political parties to forge national consensus for the peace process and constitution writing.



The party will hold talks with the parties representing the Constituent Assembly focusing the new constitution, peace process, integration and reinstatement of Maoist army combatants, implementation of commitments signed in the past, formation of the proposed state restructuring and truth commission and power sharing.[break]



According to UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal´s aide Ram Babu Adhikari, the party will hold talks with the Nepali Congress to garner support on the concept paper of the new schedule for timely promulgation of the new statute in the afternoon today.



UML Politburo meeting held on Aug. 21 had endorsed the party´s concept paper for national consensus. The party´s Politburo meeting held Tuesday decided to hold discussions with other parties.
