The UML said having the same person as the Chief of the Judiciary, the Legislature and the Executive would be against the theory of separation of power.
The informal meeting of the UML central committee members available in the Kathmandu Valley has reached this conclusion, UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel told the media persons.
The UML was not for going for the election making the Chief Justice as the Prime Minister against the theory of separation of power, the Interim Constitution, and existing global practices, he added.
General Secretary Pokhrel said that the judiciary should be made controversy-free, adding that if the Chief Justice was made the Prime Minister the judiciary would be dragged into controversy.
