ILAM, Nov 25: In the ongoing vote count of Ilam-2, CPN-UML Vice Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang is ahead of his closest rival by 1,765 votes.
In the counting till 11:30 AM, Nembang has got 20,071 votes while he is being followed by the Nepali Congress candidate Dambar Bahadur Khadka with 18,306 votes.

So far, the votes of wards 6, 7, 8 of Mangsebung, Chulachuli, Phakphokthum Rural Municipality and Mai Nagar, 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 of Deumai Nagar have been counted. The counting of the votes from 11 wards except for wards 3 and 4 of Deumai Nagar and Ward 10 of Ilam Municipality is yet to be done. Similarly, 69,085 votes were cast in Ilam-2 out of 115,423 voters.
UML's Ganesh Prasad Baral is still leading the vote count in Province Assembly 1 of this region. While Baral got 5,531 votes, Gobinda Giri, the Congress candidate of the alliance, got 5,448 votes.
