MANANG, May 14: Kanchha Ghale of CPN-UML has been elected to the post of Chairman of Nesyang Rural Municipality in Manang district. He got 861 votes.

Similarly, his closest rival, Tshiring Ongma Gurung of the Nepali Congress (NC) received 719 votes. Likewise, an independent candidate Tshiring Dhawa Gurung was elected to the post of Vice Chairman of the rural municipality receiving 744 votes. His closest rival Rinjen Dhorje of the NC received 719 votes.
Out of 3,535 voters in the Nesyang rural municipalities, only 1,657 votes or 46.87 per cent were cast. Total voter turnout in Manang district was 62.60 per cent. Out of 6,496 voters in the district, only 4,077 votes were cast, according to Chief Election Officer, Punaram Khanal.
