KATHMANDU, April 21: Chairman of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, has fallen ill and is currently at home due to a dry cough.
“The chairman Oli is suffering from a cold and is resting at home to avoid the risk of infection in crowded places,” said the secretariat.
Senior Vice Chairman Ishwar Pokharel has assumed the chairmanship of the National Convention Representatives Council of CPN-UML, convened at Sunrise Hall in Lalitpur Godavari after Chairman Oli became unwell.

On the second day of the meeting of the National Convention Representatives Council, six groups were formed on Sunday.
Discussions primarily revolved around reports from various political, organizational and central bodies, including accounts, law, disciplinary commission and advisory council which were submitted on Saturday.
About 2,454 individuals are participating in the event. Team leaders are tasked with summarizing their group's discussions on the submitted documents. Senior Vice Chairman Ishwar Pokharel, along with General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and other officials are expected to address any questions raised during the meeting.
The UML has laid policy priorities to make the incumbent government sustainable, result-oriented and successful, enhance economic dynamics, dispense justice to cooperatives' victims, maintain good governance through effective public services and remove complexities in the implementation of federalism.
UML has set 13 policy priorities, including taking action against those involved in corruption and unscrupulous activities, ensuring accountability in the country, industrialization of agriculture and domestic production as well as transport, communication and infrastructure development, increasing electricity generation and consumption.
Likewise, UML laid emphasis on expanding technical education and maintaining gender equality, fulfilling the remaining tasks of the peace process and strengthening foreign relations on the basis of national independence.
