RASUWA, May 16: UML has won the elections for the post of chairman in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality.
According to chief returning officer Ramraja Uprety, UML candidate Kaisang Nurpu Tamang has been elected as the chief of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality.
Devotees throng Gosaikunda
He has secured 1,828 votes while his closest rival of Nepali Congress Pemba Chhiring got 1 ,505 votes.
Similarly, UML candidate Kargelmo Shrestha has been elected as deputy chief with 1,740 votes. Her closest rival of Nepali Congress Deki Tamang secured 1,149 votes.
According to District Election Office, Rasuwa, 3, 693 votes had been cast in Gosaikunda Municipality which has six wards.
Vote counting is underway in the remaining four rural municipalities. It is expected that all the elections results will come out by tomorrow.
