CHITWAN, Nov 16: The vehicle of Umesh Shrestha, the candidate for the House of Representatives from Chitwan constituency no. 2, has been vandalized.
Police said that at 11:00 AM today, a group came near Bharatpur Metropolitan City-10 Chitwan Medical College in three motorcycles and smashed the windows of the vehicle by pelting stones.
The front window of a green colored vehicle numbered Ba 3 Cha 2050 was vandalized. He had parked the car and had gone to participate in the program organized by Aama Samuha.
Bijayaraj Pandit, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Chitwan, said that a group of three people who came on motorcycles smashed the windscreen of the vehicle and ran away. The search for the vandals is underway. He said that now they will watch the CCTV footage to identify the vandals.
Shrestha, who is also a Minister of State, is a candidate from the ruling alliance. Earlier, supporters of the coalition had vandalized Rabi Lamichhane's vehicle.
