UM launches Renegade 300-series bikes

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: IME Automotives has started selling UM's Renegade 300 series motorcycles in the Nepali market. 


The company launched two models of Renegade 300 series -- Commando (230cc & 300cc) and Sports (140cc, 180cc & 300cc) - amid a function organized in Kathmandu on Sunday.

“The new bikes are powered by higher series single cylinder liquid cooled engine mated to a six speed transmission. They have fuel tank of 18 liters capacity with kerb weight of 172 kg,” IME Automotives said, issuing a statement.


The Renegade Commando has wide handlebars and hydraulic telescopic front suspension and spring rear suspension, which, according to the company, is ideal for a cruiser segment motorcycle. “While the front wheel of Renegade Sports has telescopic suspension, the rear wheel has dual shock absorbers,” the company added in the statement.

Chandra Prasad Dhakal, executive chairman of IME Group; Sandeep Agarwal, director of IME Automotives; Suman Pokharel, director of IME Automotives; Kapil Shiwakoti, CEO of IME Automotives; and Pankaj Singh, a representative from UM India, among others, were present in the unveiling ceremony of the higher series Indian version product line-up by UM.


“Features like main USP of UM Motorcycles, the designs and colors being offered, AFS (Anti-Flat Sealant), LEDs 360o (Light Emitting Diode) and USB Charging Port, UM gel seat and Intelligent Dashboard have been incorporated in the new models,” the statement read. 


UM product ranges from 125-series to 300-series and in all segments i.e. scooters, cruisers, café cruisers, dirts and motards, and commuter series. 


IME Automotives has its exclusive showroom at Naachghar, Jamal. Similarly, it has dealerships networks in major cities across the country. 


While Renegade Commando is priced at Rs 492,000, Renegade Sports is selling for Rs 499,000, according to the company.
