UCPN (M) Vice Chair Shrestha objects to govt modus operandi

By
BIRATNAGAR, Dec 26: UCPN (Maoist) Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha expressed strong exception to the government's current move to create additional portfolios by splitting the existing ministries on Saturday.

Speaking to journalists in Biranagar today Shrestha said his party is unhappy with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for expanding the Cabinet by splitting the ministerial portfolios and adding ministers unnecessarily.

"The current government should not think that UCPN (Maoist) will support whatever steps it takes," Shrestha said at a press meet organized in Biratnagar this morning, adding, "We are not happy with the government."

He stated that his party is not happy with the government for expanding the Cabinet by breaking the ministerial portfolios, ignoring the Madhes issues.

"Prime Minister should not speak against the Cabinet's decision made to address the Madhes movement," he said, "The government's leadership should not do so."

However, he clarified that the UCPN (Maoist) is not for toppling the current government for the next one. "It has to rectify its mistakes," he added.
