Nepal will play against Asia's 10 teams, including South Asian rivals Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka and other Asian nations Kyrgyzstan, host Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.Meanwhile, All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) bade farewell to the team during a program held at the National Sports Council, Tripureshwar on Monday.

Speaking at the farewell program, NSC Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama said that the team should be able to spread the messages that Nepal could cope with any type of situation. Lama also informed that his tenure at the NSC will end on June 12.

Similarly, ANFA Acting President Lalit Krishna Shrestha said that the football governing body decided to send the team to take part in the festival with the motive of transforming tragedy into strength.

"The participation will spread positive messages around the world and encourage other sectors of sports to take part in the all events," said Shrestha.

Meanwhile, head coach Hari Khadka said that they would use the tournament as an opportunity to test player for future rather than for results. "Since we are participating in the festival we will be focusing on players' individual performances and exposure to players as well as learn about the football development of other nations," said Khadka.
