MORANG, July 27: Two children died in separate accidents in Belbari and Sundarharaincha municipalities of Morang on Wednesday.
One of them died in a vehicle accident in Belbari Municipality-8 under the East-West Highway. The accident took place when a car (Ba 11 Cha 2458), which was traveling from east to west, collided with a truck (Ko 1 B 8004), which was parked on the road.
When will it end?
Raju Baraily, 14, of Damak Municipality-4, Jhapa, died in the accident, Traffic Police Inspector Rajkumar Karki said.
Baraily and the car driver Sandeep Lamichhane, 22, from Belbari Municipality-1, were injured in the accident. Although both the injured were taken to Belbari Hospital for treatment, Baraily was brought to Nobel Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar for further treatment.
Baraili died during treatment at Nobel and traffic police said that Lamichhane is being treated at Belbari. According to the traffic police, the Belbari area police office has started further investigation into the incident.
Similarly, Pradeep Khadka, the 5-year-old son of Hari Khadka of Sundarharaincha Municipality-4, died after being swept away by a river, according to Morang police. According to Morang police, after seeing the child being swept away near the house at around 9:30 AM on Wednesday morning, the locals rescued him but he died immediately during treatment at Bedant Hospital in Itahari. The local police office, Belbari, has started investigating the incident, the police said.
