Two arrested for black marketeering LPG cylinders

KATHMANDU, April 9: Two persons have been arrested for black marketeering of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders on Friday.

According to police, 43-year-old Ramesh Lal Shrestha, owner of the Nayabazaar-based Lal Gas Store, was arrested for selling cooking gas cylinders at Rs 1,500 each.

Police said a joint team of District Administration Office, Kathmandu and Metropolitan Police Circle, Lainchour seized 25 LPG cylinders.

Likewise, acting on a tip-off of black marketeering, a police team raided the Tikathali-based Suman Gas Store and arrested owner Suman Basnet. Police also seized16 cooking gas cylinders from the store.

Police said they are investing the cases.
