Transportation services resume in Terai districts
JANAKPUR/RAUTAHAT, Jan 27: Transportation services in several districts of the Terai region, which had come to a grinding halt since October 15 last year due to launch of protests by the Madhesi Morhca, resumed from Wednesday.

Public vehicles plying on long as well as short routes started operating in Janakpur. Along with the resumption of vehicular movements, daily life in the region has gradually started to turn to normalcy in the district. Schools and colleges have fully come into operation and markets have opened up.

“Markets have opened. Schools have come into operation. We decided to resume vehicular operations from Wednesday,” said Manoj Chaudhary, president of Janakpur Zone Public Vehicles Entrepreneurs Association.

Along with that vehicles have started to ply in Rautahat district also. “As life went out of gear, we decided to resume vehicular movement for a short time,” said Yogendra Yadav, central member of Sadbhawana Party.

Ramashankar Giri, president of Rautahat district Public Vehicles Entrepreneurs Association, said public vehicles along long routes have also come into operation from the district.

“We are trying to bring life to normalcy. And this is not possible until transportation returns to normalcy,” said Giri.
