The transport workers have called for an indefinite strike demanding compensation to the families of bus driver Sher Bahadur Magar, who was beaten to death by passengers at Surunga of Jhapa in March earlier this year and of taxi driver Dipak Pandey murdered at Bhaunne of Morang in April last year.

As a result of the strike, all vehicles have remained off the road for the second continuous day today, leaving the passengers stranded.

The strike would continue until the administration puts into practice the agreement reached earlier to provide compensation to both the families, President of All Nepal Transport Workers Union, Laxman Basnet said.
