According to the Sagarmatha National Park office at Jorsalley, nine thousand six hundred and forty-seven tourists visited the park in October this year. This figure is less by 750 persons from the number of tourists visiting the park in October of last year.[break]
Tourists can see the snow-capped mountains including Mt. Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) and other ranges, observe the Sherpa settlements like Khumjung and Khunde and the Sherpa culture there, the Tengboche Maonastery located at the highest place in the world and watch rare wild animals in the Sagarmatha National Park.
Tourists from third countries except the SAARC member states have to pay one thousand rupees per person as entry fee.
