Tourism promotion in Indian malls

NEW DELHI, June 5: Targeting the summer holiday season in India, a month long promotional campaign has been launched in New Delhi to boost Indian tourist arrivals in Nepal. Nepal Tourism Year 2011 targets to lure 300,000 Indian tourists.



Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) launched the consumer promotional campaign in shopping malls in major Indian metros and second tier cities for the months of May/June through direct sales agents in India.[break]



Nepal tourism promotion program is being conducted at 17 shopping malls in different Indian metros and second tier cities of New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmadabad, Jaipur, Pune, Kanpur and Lucknow. The promotional campaign features prizes, including Nepal holiday package, and souvenirs, game props and fun contests. SMSes and print ads are being used to attract people to the campaign sites.



Travel-trade participants have been allocated in individual counters to promote their tour packages. The campaign has proved an ideal platform for direct sales agents, who offer travel/tour packages to the visitors, for the distribution of promotional collaterals and to show all the highlights of NTY 2011 campaign.



The consumer promotion campaign in Indian shopping malls has become an ideal platform for travel agents and tour operators participating with NTB for promoting and selling unique Summer Splendor Nepal tour packages on the spot.
