TMDP makes public election manifesto

KATHMANDU, Oct 23: The Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) made public its election manifesto on Wednesday.



Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur unveiled the manifesto amidst a program held in its party central office Anamnagar today.



TMDP, a Madhes based party formed for Madhes cause and had advocated for single province in the Terai region in previous CA elections, has remained silent about the would-be federal structure of the country.



However, the TMDP has mentioned that it is for an autonomous Madhes state. Responding to reporters’ queries, Thakur also argued that his party is in favor of single Madhes province model in Terai region.



On system of governance, the TMDP has proposed executive prime minister and parliament-elected ceremonial president.



Likewise, the TMDP has proposed free education for Nepali citizen up to bachelor’s level. It has also envisaged developing and promoting various religious places including the Janakpur-based Ram-Janaki temple and Lumbini as tourist hob.
