Tipper hits minor, body removed after five hours

SARLAHI, July 8: A body of a boy who was killed as a tipper hit him has been removed from the road five hours after the accident.

SARLAHI, July 8: A body of a boy who was killed as a tipper hit him has been removed from the road five hours after the accident.


The accident took place at the inner road section of Bagmati municipality of the district.

The tipper (Na 4 Kha 2305) had hit a five-year-old Aayush Thing at 6.30 on Sunday evening. Thing died on the spot.


Locals took to the street following the incident. The demonstration of the locals against the accident had barred the police from taking the body of the child to a hospital for an autopsy.


Later, only at 11 pm, the relatives gave the police a go-ahead  to take the body to a hospital for the postmortem.


The investigation is still underway, informed Area Police Office Inspector Binod Sunuwar. Inspector Sunuwar added that the tipper and the driver are under their custody.


Locals have complained that the tippers are mainly responsible for road accidents that frequently occur in different parts of the country.
