In an attempt to promote tourism and provide a platform for creative expression Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has been organizing Photo Nepal, a monthly photo exhibition for the last four years. Over the years, they have organized competitions and exhibits to reflect the natural and cultural essence of Nepal. And the themes have varied too, from winter photo competitions to climate change, all exhibitions have explored the multifaceted sides of Nepal. These exhibitions take place on the first Friday of every month at NTB’s courtyard and there is to be one today too.

Belgian photographer Danny Versafelt’s pictures will be exhibited at this latest edition of Photo Nepal. Rather than a professional, Danny is a photography enthusiast and a traveler at his core. He is the second non-Nepali whose solo collection will be exhibited by Photo Nepal. 35 of his photographs will be up for viewing at this exhibition which is to begin from  March 1, 2019 and run through March 7, 2019.

Sudhan Subedi, one of the chief organizers of the exhibition, explains that the aim of this exhibition is to show Nepal through the eyes of its visitors. “Although we have an exhibition every month, we take three to four months to prepare for one and Danny’s exhibition is one we have been anticipating for quite a while now,” he shares. He adds that viewing Nepal from a different lens is sure to give us Nepalis a fresh perspective with which we can appreciate our country.

Here, The Week gives you sneak peek into the exhibition.
