Three killed, mid hill highway obstructed due to rain-triggered landslides in Baglung

BAGLUNG, Aug 5: Three persons have been killed and two went missing as landslides buried five houses at Tamankhola rural municipality in Baglung on Sunday night.

BAGLUNG, Aug 5: Three persons have been killed and two went missing as landslides buried five houses at Tamankhola rural municipality in Baglung on Sunday night.


Four others are injured in the natural disaster, according to Tamankhola ward chair Udim Chanttyal.

The deceased have been identified as Santa Kumari Sirpali, 45, Ansari Sirpali, 70 and Prabin Sirpali, 12, of of Tamankhola-4. A team of police has reached the incident site to take the stock of the situation, said Baglung Police Spokesperson Jhapindra Prasad Bhattarai.


Likewise, the Toorture pond in between Badigad rural municipality and Dhorpatan municipality has overflown causing obstruction at the Mid Hill Highway. Vehicles moving to and from Burtibang are stranded at both sides of the highway
