Three killed in two road accidents

PALPA, July 22: Three people, including a father and son, were killed in two separate road accidents in Palpa on Saturday and Sunday.


 Two people died when a motorbike collided head-on with a truck in Tinau Rural Municipality-2. Likewise, one person died in a motorcycle-jeep collision at Dumru Chowk of Tansen Municipality-8 on Sunday morning.

 Both the father and his son died when their motorbike (Na 3 Kha 1008) fell into Tinau River after it was hit by a truck. The deceased have been identified as Madhav Kumal, 40, of Mathagadi-2, and his son Umesh, 19, according to District Police Office (DPO), Palpa.

 Earlier on Saturday evening, a jeep (Lu 1 Cha 4080) en route to Butwal from Tansen collided with a motorcycle (Lu 19 Pa 7021) coming from the opposite direction. The pillion rider, who has been identified as Krishna Pun, 22, of Tansen-14, died in the accident.


 Pun died while being taken to Lumbini Medical College for treatment, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Binod Ghimire. The motorcycle rider Binod Thapa is undergoing treatment at a hospital with critical injuries. Police have detained the jeep for investigation.
