Three killed in road accidents in Morang

BIRATNAGAR, Nov 29: Three people were killed in three separate road accidents in Morang district.


According to police, a 40-year-old motorcyclist died after being hit by a passenger bus at Sundarharaicha-8 along the East-West Highway on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Bijesh Limbu from Sundarharaicha-7.


Critically-injured Limbu was rushed to the Nobel Teaching Hospital, Biratnagar, where the doctors pronounced him dead.  Police have started investigation taking the bus and its driver Babulal Murmu under their control.

Likewise, a scooter rider and the pillion rider were killed after being hit by a tractor in the same district.


The incident took place when the scooter and tractor collided head-on at Sundarharaicha-9 along the East-West Highway on Saturday evening.


The deceased have been identified as 42-year-old Makeshwar Chaudhary. Chaudhary breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar. The driver of the tractor is at large and police have launched search operation to nab him.


In yet another road accident in Morang, a 35-year-old pillion rider died when a motorcycle skidded off the road after the rider lost his control. However, the identity of deceased has yet to be established. Motorcycle rider Upendra Danuwar who sustained a head injury has been undergoing treatment at Araniko Hospital, Urlabari.
