Three alleged Uma murderers sent to jail

JANAKPUR, Feb 17: Dhanusha District Court has sent three of the five individuals held by police in connection with the murder of journalist Uma Singh to jail until the investigation into the case is complete.



A single bench of Judge Bimal Prasad Dhungel issued the verdict Tuesday.



Uma’s sister-in-law Lalita Devi Singh, Tarai Ekta Parishad chief Nemlal Paswan and Maoist worker Shrawan Yadav have been sent to Jaleshwar prison following the court verdict.



The plaintiff in the case has demanded life imprisonment for Lalita, 10 years imprisonment for Yadav and life imprisonment with property attachment for Paswan.



The court released another accused Bimalesh Jha on ordinary date, while Uma’s nephew Avishek has been freed on bail.
