MYAGDI, Oct 18: Day by day, the health services and treatment facilities at Beni Hospital at the district headquarters of Maygdi are getting better and effective. This has earned the hospital a good reputation among the locals.
The hospital has started surgical delivery service, digital X-ray service, complex surgeries which has benefitted a wide number of patients. Besides that, the hospital has started its own dental and pharmaceutical facility within the hospital premises. This has not just made the service effective but has also increased the number of patients significantly.

Beni Hospital in coordination with Nick Simons Institute started conducting surgical delivery service in the district. According to Dr Dhirendra Malla, coordinator at the hospital, as many as 174 critical operations have been successfully conducted till now.
“We have been successful in conducting even the most complex types of surgeries which has boosted our confidence,” said Malla. As the hospital has been conducting free surgeries for the patients, people have been able to save money. Earlier, people with poor financial status had to live with their ailment until they died. But now, such people have been greatly benefitting from the hospital as they can cure their diseases at low cost.
By now, the hospital has been successful in handling 35 cases of appendicitis, 62 cases of hydrocele, 64 cases of hernia and six cases of complex delivery, informed Dr Malla. In a year, the hospital conducts around 60 to 70 orthopedic surgeries and thousands of minor operations every month.
The hospital has also begun constructing another building and is providing health services to the patients through two Out Patient Departments (OPD). In a normal day, more than 100 patients get admitted to the OPD and sometimes the number even jumps to 150. Doctors have been reaching out to various rural parts of the district to run awareness programs and health camps.
Beni Hospital has been declared as the third best hospital of the western region. Doctors are putting their best efforts to bring new technologies and equipment so that they can provide the best possible treatment to their patients.
