The rally was organised to commemorate and respect the victims of human rights violations during the armed conflict in the country, and for guaranteeing truth and justice.[break]
The rally was started from Bhrikutimandap and concluded reaching at Shantibatika after going through Ramshahpath, Putalisadak, Bagbazaar and Ratnapark.
Right to truth is the right to know all the facts and truth about an incident, situation of the incident and people involved in it.
General Assembly of the United Nations had three years ago, approved to observe the International Right to Truth Day on March 23, it is learnt.
This is the first time, Nepal has been observing the Day.
Representatives of different organizations including Conflict Victim Society for justice, Disappeared Families National Network Nepal, Conflict Victim Orphaned Society Nepal and Conflict Victim Disabled Association participated in the rally.
Suman Adhikary, Coordinator of the Group, said that the government should provide information about incidents and justice delivery at the earliest as the victim families have not received the information about the related incidents occurred during the conflict period and necessary justice.
