The fire by electrical short-circuit caused 4.8 million loss in Khotang

KHOTANG, Jan 14: The assets around 4.8 million have been destroyed in Khotang due to fire sparked by electrical short-circuit.


According to the Police personnel, the fire caused destruction in the house of Gopi Katwal in Diktel Rupakot-3 of Majhuwagadhi Municipality. Fire destroyed equivalent to 4.8million including six tola gold, two hundred thousand cash, grains and woods burnt in the Katwal’s two-floored home.

The fire, set on Tuesday morning at 7.45, damaged quintiles of rice, maize, and millet', said Bamdev Gautam, the D.S.P of District Police Office, Khotang.


Nepal Police, Nepal Armed Force, Nepal Army, and local residents saved other houses collaboratively taking the fire under their control. The fire- victim Katwal is identified as the In-charge of Community Service Centre, Diktel and Sub- Police Inspector. The family of Katwal has been living in the old house though they had built the new RCC building.
