If you constantly find yourself wondering where to go for some live music, art events, or local markets, then the app My City Pulse is just what you need to download on your smartphone. “The app is a great for those who want to keep track of everything happening around the city. Besides that, it also has a detailed map and will provide you directions as well,” says Kavin Shah, founder of My City Pulse.

With information inundation on social networking sites, sometimes it becomes hard for travelers to know whether the information is genuine or just scams. So the main motive behind developing this traveling smartphone application was to assist both international and domestic tourists in making the right choices while exploring Kathmandu. It filters out and lists the best events and places in town.

Shah claims that the features of the application are what make it so reliable. What was launched just a year ago now has 1000 users including people from countries like China, Australia, UK and many others. Currently, it has a 4.8 rating in Google Play Store and 4+ in Apple’s App Store. And the best thing is that it’s free.

The events page lists all the events happening in the city with the date, venue and time. You have the option of marking it as well as sharing it with your family and friends. The app also provides you with routes to reach the venues where the events will be held. With the ‘Get Directions’ button, the external location tracing application of your phone such as Google Map displays directions from your location to the destination.

Apart from that, the app also has a separate Live Map section where you will receive various pins about every single event venue. The pins are of three different colors based on the number of people participating at the event. Yellow indicates twenty or less, green pin means 20 to 100 people and red refers to over 100 people.

There is also a promotion or trending section. It displays advertisements and offers from various companies and business officials. This is also a section where anyone can endorse or launch their products by contacting My City Pulse. Here the users are allowed to post their reviews and comments on each of the promos.

Overall, the application is considered a window to closely view art destinations, events, restaurants, cafes, bars, and lifestyle as locals. Beginners can always go through tutorials and help options in the application itself to learn how to use My City Pulse. Despite the amazing features, Shah confesses that the app also has a few glitches due to technical errors. However, he says that debugging these issues is currently their top priority.

“So far, we have been receiving positive feedback from almost all our users. But because of some internal bugs, some have had problems using the app. We understand the problem very well and are diligently working to solve them as soon as we can,” he concludes.
