Tanahun bans import of chickens and eggs from Chitwan

DAMAULI, April 9: The District Bird Flu Disease Control Committee, Tanahun, has banned the import of chickens, chicks, and eggs from Chitwan.


According to Chief of Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Service Expert Center Dr Bal Kumar Shrestha, the import of chickens, eggs and chicken manure from Chitwan has been banned in the district from today afternoon to control the spread of bird flu.

Shrestha said that the decision was taken in accordance with the provisions of Section 15 of the Animal Health and Livestock Services Act, 1999 for the prevention of bird flu in different districts of the country including Chitwan.
