KATHMANDU, June 23: The talks between the government and the agitating 33-party Rastriya Morcha have ended ‘positively’ on Thursday.
The political alliance that is coordinated by Shovram Thapa consists of 33 fringe parties held talks with the government after it became ready to take ownership of the constitution promulgated by the Constituent Assembly (CA).
Secretary of the alliance, Bikram Kunwar told Republica Online that the government turned positive toward their demands during the dialogues held at Prime Minister’s Office, Singha Durbar.
During the talks that lasted for some two hours, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli remarked that the government was ready to address genuine demands of all dissenting groups.
The 33-party alliance have demanded that the government creates an environment to take ownership of the constitution as they had boycotted CA, allow them to take part in election on a common election symbol and forming a powerful commission to resolve basis problems of people among others.
The government expressed commitments to take appropriate decision form cabinet after discussing with all parties regarding the demands.
Kunwar said that second round talks will be held after the government forges an opinion on their demands.
