KATHMANDU, June 11: Bharat Kumar Thapa, the suspended Mayor of Bagmati Municipality in Sarlahi district, has been charged with another Rs 300 million corruption case.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a corruption case against Thapa and five others at the Special Court on Tuesday.
The CIAA has alleged that Thapa was involved in corruption amounting to Rs 302.9 million during the construction of a lake in wards 4 and 12 of Bagmati Municipality.
Earlier, the anti-graft body had filed a Rs 53.3 million corruption case against Thapa on March 31, accusing him of illegally amassing money.
