Sujal’s brace in Manang’s 5-0 rout over Saraswati Club

JHAPA, May 8: Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi has entered the semifinals of the Damak Gold Cup defeating Saraswati Football Club in a one-sided affair on Monday. On their route to thrash Saraswati Club by a 5-0 scoreline, Manang’s Sujal Shrestha scored a brace supported by Bimal Basnet, Tirtha Basnet and Subash Gurung’s one each in a match played at Damak, Jhapa.

JHAPA, May 8: Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi has entered the semifinals of the Damak Gold Cup defeating Saraswati Football Club in a one-sided affair on Monday. On their route to thrash Saraswati Club by a 5-0 scoreline, Manang’s Sujal Shrestha scored a brace supported by Bimal Basnet, Tirtha Basnet and Subash Gurung’s one each in a match played at Damak, Jhapa.


Sujal opened the flood-gates on 49th minute of the match as the first half finished on a goalless draw. Bimal cashed in on his opportunity 20 minutes later. In the 84th minute, Tirtha Basnet aggregated the lead to 3 goals to nil as Subash latched onto another opportunity just a minute later to make it 4-0. Finally, Sujal completed his brace in the stoppage time to seal the 5-0 victory over the opposition team.

Sujal Shrestha claimed the man of the match award for his brace. He did spoil a chance to complete a hat-trick after his 77th minute attempt missed to meet the target. He received Rs 11,000 for the performance of the day.


Nepal Police Club will face Armed Police Force in the first semi-final match on Tuesday informed the media manager Chandra Khatri.
